Lavazza has been owned by the eponymous family
2016 Lavazza Calendar,” said Armando Testa Executive Creative Director Michele Mariani, “and it is what we think we’ve achieved in the photo report by Joey L., through his portraits of young people who work on the land and their fathers, from whom they assimilate the experience of work and learn to respect the environment. From Father to Son also offers a way to explore and learn about important sustainability projects promoted by the Lavazza Foundation and Slow Food in Latin America.”
The 13 photographs in the Calendar “From Father to Son” are on show at EXPO 2015, in the Italian Pavilion (Cardo South West), until October 7.
FROM FATHER TO SON: THE FUTURE IS IN THE HANDS OF THE YOUNG EARTH DEFENDERS
Established in Turin, Italy, in 1895, Lavazza has been owned by the eponymous family for four generations. The world’s seventh ranking coffee roaster, Lavazza is the retail leader in Italy with a market share of approx. 45% (Nielsen), sales of EUR 1,344 million in 2014, and a growing presence in North America. The company has five manufacturing plants, and markets its products in more than ninety countries, through wholly owned subsidiaries and distributors. In its early years, the founder Luigi Lavazza invented blending – the art of knowingly combining different origins sourced from some of the best coffee producing areas in the world – and this continues to be a distinctive feature of many Lavazza products. The company has over a quarter century of experience in the manufacture of portioned coffees (single-serve) and systems. Lavazza’s North American headquarters are in New York City.
